To promote the safety, dignity, equality, and overall development of women,
Duliajan College had established two Women’s Cells: Women’s Cell, Duliajan
College Teachers’ Unit (2016) and Duliajan College Women’s Cell (2021). The
founder president and secretary of the first cell were Dr. Dayananda Nath and Mrs.
Phulajyoti Saikia respectively while the president and convener of the second cell
are Dr. Lok Bikash Gogoi and Mrs. Ankita Baruah respectively.
The Women’s Cells strive to create a safe, supportive, and gender-sensitive
environment for female students, teachers, and staff members. They work towards
promoting gender equality, safeguarding women's rights, and fostering their
holistic development. The Cells regularly organize awareness programmes,
workshops, popular talks, seminars, and interactive sessions on various issues,
including women’s empowerment, gender equality, health and hygiene, legal
rights, mental well-being, leadership development, and skill enhancement.
The Women’s Cells aim to broaden their activities through training programmes,
skill-development initiatives, collaborative projects, research-oriented activities,
and community engagement programmes. Through these efforts, they seek to
further strengthen their commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusive growth
and gender justice.
